Using the beautiful scenery of the region, its landscape and architecture, we will concentrate on how one paints while on location. The class will investigate the use of space, light, color, composition and atmospheric perspective in traditional and contemporary “alla prima” landscape painting. Students are encouraged to develop skills, experiment, and find personal expression.

Prerequisite: previous experience in oil or acrylic painting. Enrollment is limited to ten students with a minimum of six.

With an emphasis on self-expression, we will explore various techniques, concepts of space, light, and perspective while painting still life or the inspiring Umbrian landscape. Issues of compositional form and color relationships are especially considered. Exercises will be given to encourage experimentation, understanding of the medium and mastering of skills.

Prerequisite: previous experience in watercolor painting and drawing. Enrollment is limited to ten students with a minimum of six.
