Castel Brando is one of Europe’s largest and oldest historic castles situated in the Veneto region overlooking the ancient hamlet of Cison di Valmarino. An hour from the Leonardo da Vinci airport in Venice and two hours from Milan, it will be the site of this year's ArTravel painting workshop — our 16th year.
Originally built in the First Century under the Emperor Claudius and expanded throughout the centuries, the castle is now privately owned and completely renovated as a four star hotel. The hotel boasts all the amenities including a spa, three restaurants, air-conditioning, Internet access, and satellite TV.
And best of all, our painting studio is the ancient church located in the garden of the property. There will be plenty of room for each artist to work indoors or out. The castle has great views everywhere you walk. The spectacular architecture, the gardens, and fountains, the mountain with its wooded path, and a lovely hamlet below are all very paintable.
